Amiga Advice Presents:

The Reality of Our Youthful Journey

A collection of poems written by Samantha, Hendre, and James. Directed by Fatima Gonzalez

This collaboration was inspired by the strong young voices that were discovered in the Washington High School Theater Club. These voices and stories represent the hard reality that the youth in our community in Wyandotte County face.

About our Featured Artists:

Samantha

Samantha is a junior at Washington High School pursuing a future in theater. This is her first experience in writing and she wrote three emotional pieces for this collection that displayed how strong vulnerability can be.

James

James is a junior at Washington High School and is an aspiring actor. Through the creative process, James’ talent was flowing out of him as he wrote about hardships and struggles that his art was about to push him through.

Hendre

Hendre is a junior at Washington High School as well as a writer, artist, and actor. Hendre’s fearless style of writing set the tone for our collection as he embraced every opportunity to feature his raw emotions. Hendre is also the photographer behind our cover and collection art.
